Import CSV

From version 5.2.1 Colour catalogues can be imported from text CSV files.

Note:

Paint manufactures may provide a CSV file containing colours in their catalogues. It should be noted that the colours specified in these files may only be an approximation of the actual colour. Such catalogues are suitable for identifying colours you may want to add to your paint collection, but they may not be accurate enough for mixing. After purchasing a paint you may find it necessary to use the 'Import colour from image' action using a scanned sample of the colour.

The CSV File must comply with the following formatting requirements:

The value delimiter can be either a comma or a semicolon.

The first record must be a header record with one of the following column name combinations:

Import Hex values

Color - This column contains the name of the colour.

Hex - This column contains the Hex value for the colour e.g. #FF0000

Import R G B values

Color - This column contains the name of the colour.

R - This column contains the Red integer value between 0 and 255

G - This column contains the Green integer value between 0 and 255

B - This column contains the Blue integer value between 0 and 255

Import CIELab values

Color - This column contains the name of the colour.

L - This column contains the L* value

a - This column contains the a* Value

b - This column contains the b* Value

From the View Palette screen choose the Import CSV action.

After selecting the CSV file and successfully reading it, the colour catalogue will be displayed. You can enter a name for the catalogue before pressing 'save' to add the catalogue to the Palette Composer.
